HOW TO USE THE SINAYA CUP

Users must read and understand all the instructions before using the Sinaya Cup.

It usually takes 1-3 cycles before a user masters insertion and removal of the cup, so we urge you to be equipped with the correct information and proper mindset. You can use panty liners during your first days of usage. There may be some light to moderate pain during insertion. If you experience intense pain during insertion, stop your method and review the instructions before retrying.

HOW TO INSERT THE SINAYA CUP

Boil your cup before the first usage every month. Ensure there is enough water in the pot so your cup doesn’t touch the bottom. Boil for 5-10 minutes. You can also use the Sinaya Cup Sterilizer Cup to clean your cup conveniently in the microwave. Wash your hands thoroughly ensuring your fingernails are free of dirt. For first time users, we recommend cutting your fingernails short. Wash your Sinaya Cup with mild unscented oil-free soap only like the Sinaya Wash. This is so that harsh chemicals and oils cannot degrade the cup nor can they leave a residue that may harm you when the cup is inserted in the body.

It is very important to relax and get comfortable. Take deep slow breaths if you have to. Choose an insertion position that works best for you: sitting on the toilet, in a squat position, or standing with one leg raised and propped on a support.

Fold the cup using the C-Fold or the Punch-down Fold and grip tight between your thumb and index & ring finger (try whichever works best for you.) Hold down the fold firmly with one hand with the stem pointed towards your palm.

Insert the cup by first spreading your labia apart with your free hand and holding the cup against your vaginal opening. Slowly push in at an angle towards your pubic bone until the stem is fully inside your vagina. Often, this angle is more parallel to the ground, NOT straight up into the body. If you experience any discomfort/difficulty during insertion, do not panic. Instead, gently vary the angle of insertion until you get the proper technique.

To adjust the position of your cup once inside, use your index finger to gently nudge the sides of the rim higher into your vagina. Push the cup further inside until the whole cup, including the stem, is fully nestled inside.

Due to differences in anatomies, you might have a low cervix, causing parts of the stem of your cup to protrude from the vaginal opening, even if your cup has reached the maximum depth. You may carefully pull the cup out and remove.Trim the stem using clean scissors. Cut the excess length according to your needs, but make sure that you do not trim too much off, so you are still able to reach it for removal. Also, ensure the cup doesn’t get punctured. Reinsert using the previous steps.

Once in the correct position, the cup should pop open as you release your grip. You can use a finger to feel around to check if it has opened fully. If it has not, try gripping the stem or the base of the cup and rotating it a full turn. Or press around the walls of your vagina to give the cup space to open. Feel along the circumference of the rim or as far as you can reach to ensure a proper seal with your vaginal walls. Give the stem or the base of the cup a light tug to check if a suction was successfully created. The cup should stay in place, indicating successful placement.

HOW TO REMOVE THE SINAYA CUP

DO NOT pull your Sinaya Cup straight without breaking the suction seal.

You may use your cup inside you only up to 12 hours without emptying. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before removal. Removal is best done in a sanitary area: over a toilet bowl, in the shower or on a bathing area.

Get into position again (squatting, sitting, or standing). Carefully insert your index finger and thumb into the vaginal canal and reach for your Sinaya Cup. If you do not immediately feel it, bear down on the cup with your pelvic muscles (similar to a bowel movement) to help the cup move towards your fingers. We recommend regular Kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor.

Break the vacuum seal of the rim by using your index finger to push a side of the cup away from the vaginal wall until the cup loosens grip and slides more easily.

Reach for the stem and wiggle the cup outward gently until you get a hold of the base. Pinch the base to ensure the seal is released and pull the cup slowly the rest of the way out. Be sure to hold the cup upright when removing to avoid spillage.

You may also try to fold the cup back into a C-fold while it is inside for painless removal. Once you are able to reach the base with your thumb and two forefingers, fold the cup back into a C shape so the circumference of the cup becomes smaller. The contents of the cup may overflow so if you are on the toilet, handle the full cup with care to avoid unwanted spillage.

Dump the contents into the toilet or down the drain. Rinse the cup with clean water, making sure that the suction holes are clear as well. Use mild unscented oil-free soap for cleaning. If you do not have access to water when removing the cup, you can wipe it with clean toilet paper or feminine care wipes before reinserting. Wash it with soap and water as soon as possible. After reinsertion, wash the external genitalia or wipe it with tissue thoroughly to remove residual fluids.

HOW TO CLEAN AND STORE YOUR SINAYA CUP

You must clean your cup every 12 hours of use.

Sterilize your Sinaya Cup at least once a month before your first usage every month. You can do this by boil your cup for 5-10 minutes in a pot. You can also use the Sinaya Cup Sterilizer Cup to clean your cup conveniently in the microwave for 2 minutes.

Wash your Sinaya Cup with mild unscented oil-free soap only like the Sinaya Wash. This is so that harsh chemicals and oils cannot degrade the cup nor can they leave a residue that may irritate your body. If you do not have access to soap, you may rinse your cup with potable water or wipe with clean tissue paper. Wash your cup at least once a day.

To dry the cup, let it air-dry, or pat it dry with clean tissue paper. When it is dried, store your cup in the special Sinaya pouch. Wash the bag at least once every 3 months. We recommend to replace the cup every 2 years or yearly if exposed to soaps with oil ingredients.
