Sinaya Cup is a social enterprise that empowers modern active Filipinas with a reusable waterproof eco-friendly alternative to disposable napkins and tampons called “menstrual cups”.

Disposable menstrual napkins and tampons cannot keep up with modern Filipinas with active lifestyles. They are space-consuming, bulky to wear, ineffective in protecting from flow due to rigorous motions, and not recommended for water activities such as swimming, surfing and diving. Disposable menstrual napkins, along with disposable diapers, are the biggest contributor of waste in our landfills making up 13% of our total landfills. What’s worse, poor women in rural areas cannot even afford reliable menstrual protection so they resort to using dirty rags or nothing at all.

A single Sinaya Cup can be used throughout the whole menstruation cycle up to 12 hours at a time, and can last up to five years of use, so half a decade’s worth of sanitary plastic products can be diverted from landfills and from our natural environment. Women can save more money in the long run because the cups would outweigh the cost of buying disposable menstrual products. They are also hypoallergenic, convenient, and they empower women.
